Will my computer support the Radeon 7850?

I recently built a PC, but i want to get a nice graphics card.

My specs:
Motherboard: MSI 760GM-P23 (FX), 1333 MHz, gen2 PCIe
CPU:AMD FX-4100 3.60 GHz quad core
Power Supply: Pixxo PL Series 500W Power Supply
Memory: Kingston HyperX Red 4GB (x2)
Windows 8 64 bit

I want to buy the MSI R7850 Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC

It will support the card but the issue is the power supply. I don't trust that and would rather have it replaced with a 450-550W psu from seasonic, corsair or antec

It has done great so far.

And the card is PCIe 3.0, but my mothetboard is PCIe 2.0, the card will still work right?

^ NO dont even try with that power supply. In clubdedohardware's term its a death trap and could explode on you. Ripples are tsunamies. Pixxo PSU same as that "Safe" Power. Go with a decent power supply, antec, seasonic, rosewill capstone/hive, corsair, pc power & cooling,.

It probably runs great before because you've never taxed it before. I doubt that power supply could get anywhere near 500W (maybe 300W at best). Once you add your video card, you'll face more issues that aren't worth it

There always seems to be a decent sub-$30 deal on either Antec or Corsair PS's. Why take a chance on a no-namer just to save a couple bucks? A power supply is the number 1 part you shouldn't cheap out on

If you can effort then good psu like corsair,antec.remember psu is heart of your computer

No, don't get any no name psu. Get what we suggested (corsair, antec, seasonic, xfx, etc...) in the 450W-550W range. The antec VP-450 is cheap (check newegg) if you aren't willing to spend much.

The Antec VP-450 is a modern psu that uses a forward design.
Each rail can pull up to 186w and the radeon hd 7850 pulls 150w.

It can actually pull 550w with lower efficiency.
Its efficiency is about 85% but it doesn't get that rating because it does not have an Active PFC.

BTW, a CX430 or a CX500 both are good power supplies and should run a 7850 with ease. As long as it has 30+ amps on the 12V rail, and its a respectable brand, its fine. A CX500 would definitely give you a bit more room for overclocking.

I don't like Antec PSU's for the fact that most of them use two rails, you have to be careful that you don't overload one rail. It also only has 18 amps on each rail, which is something I don't like.

The CX 430 is essentially the VP450, except having a single 32 amp rail. Its really your choice, I just don't like dual rail PSU's.

As for the two rails thing. The radeon hd 7850 pulls 150-160w on a decent overclock and their combined rating is about 29-30A so it should be fine.
