Hello! I am thinking of buying a 3080 when they release, I currently have a Corsair 750 watt gold plus power supply and a i7 8700k, runs my 2080ti fine but concerned if this will be a huge bottleneck and also if my psu is okay with a 3080, everything is stock no overclock. Thanks

6 cores / 12 threads, turbos to 4.7 Ghz. I don't see a problem there. What cooler is on it? Your PSU may be fine too, but knowing the exact model and age would help. In fact, list all your parts.

Looks very good. You're set, I see no issues whatsoever.

As mention before you should be fine with that CPU and PSU, what I don't know is if it will be worth it to upgrade from an already beast of a GPU (RTX 2080TI) like the one you have, unless you are tyring 4K with highest settings, or you really need those extra FPS.

But thats up to you.

Thanks for the Info! I don’t know what I should do! Either buy the founders edition 3080, or buy the msi 3080 gaming x trio but I think that may use more power than the founders edition? that was the case with the 2080tI anyway, not sure if I should play it safe and get the FE that may use less watts

honestly I mainly want the 3080 for the ray Tracing increase and FPS, I usually game at 1440p but I think I’d like to sell my 2080ti and hopefully still get a half decent amount for it and then add the rest to buy a 3080, what I’m looking for is something to play 1440p for the next few years without having to worry for very long time about turning down anything to get 60+ FPS ultra, got a few big things Happening in the next few months in my life and won’t be able to afford a upgrade for a long time so I thinking of getting the 3080 while I can still make a little money back on my 2080ti and have a solid gpu that will last many many years to come and not having to worry about upgrading cpu yet or anything. I know the 2080ti is a beast of a card but from what I’ve seen on a 3080 for the price it’s beats a 2080ti hands down so I’d rather make at least £450-£550 on my 2080ti to reduce the cost of the 3080 and have that peace of mind for the next 3-5 years.

Thanks for the explanation. Im all about getting the latest hardware when posible. And I think is really good that you plan ahead and make the purchase now if you can.

The only thing here is that we do not have any independent review yet. Only the "numbers"/"results" nvidia showed.

Anyways, enjoy the card when you get it!!!

haha thank you! One thing I just thought of, nvidia said that the 3080/90 used pci-express 4th gen? Is my motherboard good enough? My pc knowledge doesn’t stretch that far.

Well if you ask me right now, then I would say you are probably going to be ok with that mobo.

But thats one of the reason I would wait, to read and/or watch a few reviews on a new piece of hardware.
