I currently have an 850W PSU with a 970 GPU and dual 6 pin power supply cables going to it. I currently have a 3080 which seems to want dual 8 pin connector to go into it, but was wondering if I can buy a 3rd party dual 6 pin connector to the mini 12 needed for the 3080 to power it,

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

850W PSU
850W is the advertised wattage of the PSU. Please mention the make and model of the unit alongside it's age. Also, a thing to note, if your PSU lacks the necessary connectors for your devices, new or old, then you're probably working with the wrong PSU for the job.

sorry for the late response, it is a EVGA supernova 2016 850W PSU
power supply is a bronze 80

Found 4 matches above. None of them are ideal. Tier C or lower. Aim for Tier A.

I also have an 8 pin connector which splits to a 6+2 connector and do these work the same way that a normal 8 pin connector would?
I believe all psus are like that now? The tip that doesn't split goes directly into the psu, and the split end goes into the gpu.
