hi guys, im thinking of buying bf3 for my pc, i already have it on xbox but i hear that to get the most out of the game you have to play it on pc.

anyway here is my spec -

CPU - AMD Athalon ii X4 645 overclocked to 3.40ghz

MOBO - biostar group a780l3l

Ram - 8Gb ddr3 team elite

Graphics card- AMD 6670 2Gb ddr3, GPU overclocked to 840MHz and the memory overclocked to 720MHz

its the graphics card that i think is going to be the problem, so im thinking upgrading soon but unsure what to go for, im happy to spend about £150 but im willing to strech if it means i will have a far better graphics card.

cheers tom

what resolution will you play? and what is your PSU?if you have enough psu power you can go fot 6950 if you think the price is too high go for 6870.

if you would like nvidia solution you can get a 560 ti 448 cores will be a good performance for bf3.

Well both your processor and GPU are going to limit you(more so on the GPU side) but even still it should look way better than the Xbox360 version. As a side note I've heard rumors saying that Microsoft is going to use the 6670 for the Xbox720 but the processor in that is most likely going to be more powerful than yours.

What PSU are you using?

For €150 the most powerful card you could get a would be a 6870 but that would depend on your current PSU.

my PSU is
Evo labs EP10N1 ATX Switching 400W POWER SUPPLY 24PIN ATX

i would consider upgrading if its not up to scratch

and i would like to be playing at 1920x1080

Alright your going to need a new PSU.You only have 21amps on the +12/v rails which can only provide 250watts((most likely less).

Here's what I would suggest getting...

Sapphire 6850

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-11180-00-20R-HD6850-GDDR5-Graphics/dp/B0048027IQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330698163&sr=8-1

Antec 380watt

I'm still looking to see if I can find better deals but that's the best I can find for now.

yes depending on the video card you choose this psu will not work good none of the mentioned above will work on it, if you wan't to take a 6870 or higher you will something like this:

thanks this has helped alot. its my birthday tomorow and iv got a bit of cash saved up i think im going to get a mobo bundle with the amd bulldozer probs a 6 core virsion, a new power supply iv seen a couple of 600w for about £40 and then i might get the 6850 or better for graphics

You might as well go for a i5-2500k if your getting an upgrade kit. It's only $60 more and it's well worth.I just upgraded from a Phenom ii x4 965 and it's a huge improvement. Also a more powerful CPU will get you better fps in BF3.

Might as well bump up to an HD 6870 - they are very cheap right now.

Just remember to be sure to get a quality PSU because that's the backbone of the PC.And if it's poor quality every componet suffers because of it.

Do you have any preferred sites where you live that we can help you look?

That one looks great - modular cabling too!

I doubt it will run with those graphics, I have a Q9300 quad, 6GB RAM, and an HD4830. I over clocked the card and it would stick barely run on low. Get a HD6770 or HD6850.

If you love AMD, vote with your wallet so they have more incentive to make changes. Its hard to understate how far behind AMD is these days. Be a fanboy once there's a bit more parity if you want, but its just going to cost you performance-per-dollar right now.

I agree with the suggestion to go with an HD 6870. Its so cheap right now, and in such a GPU-hungry game at 1080p, the best GPU you can afford is worth it.

get a i5 and 6950 if u can and at least 550 and unlock 6950 to 6970 and oc it and u will have a kick a system which cost like a 560ti and give performance of a 580 and this system would last 5
years
if u unlock and oc ur gpu as well as oc ur cpu then it is wise to purchase a 750w with 80+ bronze a u have to consider the capacitor aging so that will sum it :)
