Will my power supply be able to keep up?

I've been using the power supply calculator to check how much power my computer needs it says I need like 450 watts for my setup. I don't think that is right. I'm thinking of getting a GTX 1060 paired with the graphics card I already have the GTX 960 (This card will be a PhysX card and the GTX 1060 as my primary card). I not sure my power supply can keep up with two graphics cards since the wattage usage is almost maxed.

PC specs:
I7 6700k 4.0 GHz
16 GB DDR4
Z170-E Motherboard
1 TB SSHD
2 TB HHD
GTX 960 4gb
GTX 1060 3gb
EVGA 500 watt 80 PLUS Bronze certified

And if I can run both cards how does one hook up both of the cards to one monitor? (One card acting as a PhysX card and the other acting as my primary card)

Yeah I know there isn't that many games with phsyx enabled
In hindsight i should just get another gtx 960. But I'm not sure if it'll be better than a gtx 1060.

By the numbers you should be fine.

The following is a personal commentary do not unveil unless readied with a calculator :)
This is only my personal quirk, but if I was building that system, I would change the power supply to a 750w..

lot of people might disagree for a 50w of variance, but consider it is barely for N. America 50w/110v = 0.45a or for our European friend 50w/220v = 0.23amps variation.

Pretty tight if you ask me, where if you have a 750w PSU and you consume 450w you have 300w left over, giving you 300/110 = 2.73 amps and in Europe 300/220 =1.34amps personally a little leeway's goes a long way.

If your wondering what difference does it make... 2.73/0.45 = 6% increase on the amperage of your PSU from 500w to 750w with your consumption as per the setup

The 1060 asks for a 400W PSU. You then add in the 960 which my itself can draw 120W.

Thermal and Power Specs:
98 CMaximum GPU Tempurature (in C)
120 WGraphics Card Power (W)

The same power draw applies to the 1060

Thermal and Power Specs:
9494Maximum GPU Temperature (in C)
120 W120 WGraphics Card Power (W)
400 W400 WRecommended System Power (W)4
6-PinSupplementary Power Connectors

That means you need two 6 pin PCIe supplementary power cables, which that PSU has(2 x 6+2).

You then need to look to the CPU which will be the most power hungry next to the GFX cards. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/skylake-intel-core-i7-6700k-core-i5-6600k,4252-11.html says that number is 76W

323W.
Max power dwar of a HDD 26W Probably closer to 12 or less
SSD 7W max Probably closer to 3
Each fan could POSSIBLY use 2W.

You're looking at a little less than 400W peak power consumption. Would I recommend a 500W PSU for that system? No. Why? You are purchasing a 6700K. That suggests an intent to overclock. The Z170 board confirms the intent. As a casual overclocker I have a really hard time believing that the GFX card wouldn't be overclocked as well. Now, I also believe that any overclock at this point would be moot. But, eventually... That 100W gap would possibly cover the extra power draw. You do realize the PSU doesn't constantly provide 500W, right? Nor does teh PC ask for 100% power 100% of the time. STILL I would be irresponsible recommending such a slim margin with that hardware and with overclocking a possibility.

You don't think that's right? I came up with a similar number. Some calcs. suggest a 50W "cushion" which would make my and the calc.'s suggestion similar.

Why don't you think the calc's suggestion is right?

1TB SSHD? That brings to mind ummmm Seagate Barricuda hybrid? I looked to newegg's and amazon's reviews for the individual voices and to business reviews for the dry numbers when building my rig. Is that drive in my Vivo Titan? No. But it does receive more good marks than bad. Belly buttons and opinions.

550 or 600W QUALITY PSU? Yes. 500W 80+ Bronze? Not really. Will it work as it sits? Sure will.

For my system

I chose a 500W EVGA 80+ PSU. If I was going to go SLI I wouldn't be using this PSU. This was on a 32" 1080p TV but it decided to give up the ghost this morning. So very happy about that. Makes me appreciate what I had.

You set up Physx through Nvidia Control panel. An SLI bridge isn't needed.

Yeah the 1Tb SSHD was from my prebuild case the Erazer x315. Thanks for the response and will keep that in mind if I want to overclock the cpu. My budget (As in my parent's budget) is more geared for an additional gtx 1060 or another gtx 960 (I don't think my parents are willing to upgrade the power supply ..... again... :/ )

Sorry my bad. Misread something. Disregard the original answer you just received. YOu already have the 960. Thought it was new for a second.

Show them the answers here. Exxplain your reason. SELL the old one to afford the new one. IF you want to upgrade.
