Will Sapphire R9 270X run on a 450W. psu?

Hello, I want to buy a Sapphire R9 270X 2GB Vapor-X GPU and the minimum power requirement of the GPU is 500 watt but my PSU is a Thermaltake 450W. Lite Power Edition ........Will the GPU run on my PC or will I face any problems?

Unfortunately, I cannot give you a definitive answer. A power supply's advertised wattage does not always hold true. Thermaltake's Litepower power supplies are terrible units built with cheap and poor capacitors. So while it says that it supplies 450W or 27A on the +12V rail, it may NOT perform up to specification and they are usually under-performing.

So if you want a clear answer, I would say NO. There is a chance that the PSU can run the graphics card and the rest of your system, but there is also a chance that it won't. And I will say no because it's better to be safe than sorry.

It can run it. Just be careful to not push it too far. If you ever get to a point where your computer crashes, then you know you used up too much power or the load was too high. Also, try to limit the number of storage drives (HDD, SSD), and fans in your case. A R9 270X requires a minimum of 15A on the +12V rail to run at full power. Your power supply is advertised to output 27A. It definitely can be lower because the PSU is crap and is not good at all.

Just remember, while it looks like you have room there, keep in mind that your CPU, hard drives, optical drives, and fans are all powered by it as well. So factoring all those in, you really don't have much.

I don't really know that much about power supplies ......bt can any of you give me a clear answer ........yes or no.......my case doesn't have many fans ......i just have a stock case...no cooler ........no upgrades...... my processor is an i5-2500k......my Mobo is an ASUS P8-Z77 VLK.......and PSU is Thermaltake Litepower Black 450W. Editon ......and it has many cables.......i don't anything else about my PSU........so will I be able to run it? and are there any risks? .............and i don't do any overclocking and stuff like that .........so will it run or not?

Can please someone check these specifications and tell me whether it will run or not?

As I said before i dont know anything about power supplies...........bt at the thermaltake website it says that my psu has only one 6 pin power connector bt r9 270x requires 2 of them ..............i'm not sure what it meant .........so can someone check the specs from the given link and clearly tell me will r9 270x run on my pc or not.....................?

thnx.............so im going to have to buy a new one.......im on a tight budget as im going to buy a monitor too............so which psu will be best for me in order to run the GPU safely and maybe do very few overclocking (optional).........in a cheap price in about 80 dollars??
