I think it has been confirmed there will be a 980 Ti but Matrix cards have always been for the best GPU, so will there be a Matrix 980 Ti?

Solution
This morning Asus' ROG page posted this status.
"The new Matrix is on the way. Stay tuned September 2nd for ‪#‎IFA15‬. ‪#‎ROGIFA‬"

This picture was also included.

Now, I believe the timing is right for it to be a GTX 980 Ti. It was almost two months ago that CowCotLand claimed Asus revealed the GTX 980 Ti Matrix, Poseidon, and 20th Anniversary card. However, I've placed the two pictures side-by-side... tell me if you notice something different. That's right, the picture on the top has less red on it and more black, just like the new Maximus...

Well, judging from the timing of all this, Asus revealed it was "readying" the Strix in early June at Computex. They revealed the sales pitch as well as "pros" such as Auto Extreme fab and Super Alloy 2 components. It was about a month or so before we saw Guru3D release a review of the Strix, and even so, it was a few weeks before Newegg had them in stock. I'd say that if Asus is at the same stage with the Matrix now that they were in with the Strix in early June.... it'll be about a month from today before they come in stock, if the timing's the same. Hopefully we will see reviews on press samples in a few weeks.

Relatively old news but I noticed there was a Tom's Hardware article about some more details being released on the Matrix.

We know it's a 14-phase card with memory defrosting and a secure BIOS factory reset button. Asus claims that the Matrix cards are selected from the top 10% of their chips. The load indicator will be RGB.
Curiously, even though most demo models have been in the new "Plasma Copper" ROG livery, Asus is still showing pictures of a 980 ti Matrix in the older red and black scheme. Although I dare to hope that there will be a model offered in the old scheme, which would be great for me, I think that it will only ship in the Plasma Copper livery. The Matrix will be using Wingblades, and I can tell the classic Matrix fan design in the red-and-black photos supplied.

THE MATRIX WILL BE IN AMERICA IN 5 DAYS. And HOLY SMOKES, they're only charging $710 USD for it!!!!!! A lot of reviewers put the North America price at $750 USD, which is where I thought it'd be myself.

Amazon and Newegg have pre-orders available. NCIX US and Micro Center do not, nor does Tiger Direct.
