Well, I have an old PC that I want to use again..
I've done with CPU and I need a better graphic now...
But I got confused choosing the right graphic card for it..

For more detail, here they are..
Motherboard, Biostar G31m+
CPU, Intel Dual Core E2160 2.4GHz (O.C.ed)
RAM, 2GB DDR2
and a 450W PSU...

A while ago, I was told that Radeon HD5550 will be a good choice for me. Then, after visiting the site for some specifications, I found that the card is based on 2.1 PCI Express but my Motherboard only have a 1.0a PCIe slot...

So, will it run well on my PC?
Or, should I find another motherboard for 2.0/ 2.1 PCIe??

Solution
PCI-e 2.1 cards are mostly compatible with PCI-e 1.0/1.1 motherboards. I say "mostly" because there have been a few complaints about PCI-e 2.1 cards not working in those old mobos.

Chances are it will work unless you are unlucky to have an incompatible mobo.

Alright then... I won't change my board if the card work fine there.. Just a bit curious, will there be any performance cut? since actually the slot and the card ain't similar...

I can afford it, but not for this old PC... I'm planning on building my own PC later... This is just for temporary use of an old resource... 😀

Well I guess I'll just try and pray then... 😀
Thanks,..
