Will this run BF3 max 1080p 60fps?

Motherboard: P8P67 REV 3.0
RAM: 8GB Patriot Viper 1600MHz
Video Cards: 2 XFX Radeon HD 6870
Case: HAF 922
Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower 775W
Cooler: Hyper 212 Plus

My main concern is that my second PCI-E slot on my motherboard can only support x4. This worries me. Will this run BF3 at 1080p with maxed out or decent graphics and at 60 FPS. PLEASE HELP

you are correct that there are better mobo choices out there (psu also) with x8/x8 pci-e lanes. Is this a build you are planning or currently own?

Do you own this rig or is this what you are looking to get? That x4 slot will handicap that second 6870 up to maybe 20% (at worst). Some games show less of a handicap than others...we won't know how it will fare until the game is released. However, you should still be ok.

It will rape BF3. It will rape crysis 2 on max...lol. 2 6870's is overkill tbh, unless your a 100 FPS crysis/metro dude on 1920x1080 (which I have no problem with, since i'll be doing that in a few years lol)

Doubt it will max. There are a lot of settings to Max and I doubt 6870's will do the job and IMO 6870's are far from overkill

According to some benches I've seen on another forum. It seems that a 6870 wouldn't max out BF3, maybe close but not fully. Also, this is Alpha we're talking about. I'm sure that Beta is when we will get the idea of what GPU would max out at 1080P. I'm recommending at least a 6950.

As for build concern. I recommend changing the PSU to this one.

Dang it, how about a ASUS GTX 570? Can you guys give me a recommendation? I might sell it on Craigslist or eBay. How much would someone pay for two barley used 6870's?

Two 6850s are about equal to a GTX 580. So two 6870s are considerably more powerful than a GTX 570.

I was referring to a single one. Two 6870's would easily max out the Alpha and probably final product of BF3. Though EA/Dice (I think) is lying when they say that no machine built can max out BF3.

Even handicapped 20% (worst case, IMO) by that x4 slot, those 6870s are still going to outperform a GTX 570. You've got until when...October? Save $130 and get the board shinobi linked. Problem solved. Who knows...SLI 580s might not be able to max it out, but CF 6870s will most likely be very playable on higher settings.

Lol at your lack of research when you bought that **** mb. Asus rips off people with their name. Even though Gigabyte/Asrock offer just as good MBs for the price and in fact that come with better features for the same price.
