[SOLVED] will zen 3 bottleneck with 1050ti

Solution
what do u mean by "overkill" will it affect perfomance?

How can a cpu that its overkill for a GPU affect performance?

This is quite simple, the GTX 1050TI is a nice, yet a pretty low budget gaming card.

So the Ryzen 5 3600 will be a long way more powerfull CPU than you need (thus it will be "overkill") to drive/work with such a "slow" GPU.

The first question you have to ask yourself is, Will the Ryzen 5 3600 give me more FPS than my current i5 3570?
Answer: Probably yes. But it will all depend on other factors, like game resolution, settings, RAM, etc.

The second question is: Will I get over 100+ FPS with the Ryzen 5 3600 + GTX 1050TI combo?
Answer: Theres no way anyone can answer that question. It will depend on other...
That depends
If you mean, in general purpose use, not really.
In gaming i guess you could say the cpu is being "bottlenecked"

BUT
Its really more of: the cpu not bottlenecking the gpu.
It mostly goes 1 way cpu bottlenecking gpu or not.
which with any moden cpu, and any modern gpu would not happen for gaming.

totally if i get zen 3 with 1050ti will there be lower fps than 3600

Unknown. If the price of a 3600 goes down $40 after the release of the 4xxx CPUs, then you have to price compare to a lower 4xxx CPU. And does your motherboard even support the 4xxx CPUs or will you have to spend another $100 - $200 on a new motherboard?
You can buy something today and enjoy it. Or you can wait and see what changes in a couple months.
There will always be a "to be released next month..." item.

I can almost guarantee that with any current midrange cpu from amd or intel that your 1050ti will limit gaming fps before cpu performance even comes into it.

Literally any ryzen cpu currently available (right back to gen 1) is capable of pushing a way more powerful gpu than a 1050ti.

In general, GPUs cannot bottleneck CPUs. If the GPU is too busy to receive work to do from the CPU, the CPU carries on running the game's logic for the next cycle.

Any PC game that strongly ties its game logic rate to the current frame rate is a poorly designed game and should be avoided.

A 1050ti will hold back the 3600. I remember having a 1050ti with a 1600 and it felt like the 1600 at the time was like an engine out of a corvette trying to push the 1050ti and the 1050ti could only just putt putt along.

In short, it will work fine with a 3600 or 4600, but the 1050ti will hold back gaming.

u mean 1050ti will not be at best preformance it can do.

No.
a gtx 1050 ti and a ryzen 5 4600 will not be slower than a ryzen 5 3600 and a 1050 ti.
Thats stupid.

But, it a 4600 might not be faster (IN GAMING) by more than a few precent.
not slower in taking about fps on low fortnite will there be any differnce with r5 4600 vs r5 3600 with 1050ti with fps

Imagine it like this, the 3600 is delivering 150 frames per second. But 1050ti can only process 60 frames per second. Then the output you'll see is 60 fps.
But if you used a more powerful card, it would be able to output all of the 150 frames every second.
So, better card + 3600 = more fps
And 1050ti + 3600 = only the fps 1050 can provide.

ok but will there be differnce with 3600 and 4600 on 1050ti fps

Almost no difference. Btw, what's your present motherboard?
now its very old bro thats y im updraging its i5 3570 anf h61mcs ill buy b550 anf 3600 i just want atleast 110+ fps while gaming and streaming fortnite on low setting 1080p , youtube videos says it gets that much . and ill upgrade gpu next year to 2060

There are probably two options for you. Either wait for the next gen Ryzens. Or get a 3600 now

3600 with a 1050 won't make much of a difference. Your i5 will do just fine. The best option:
Hold on to your i5 for now and wait till next year when the prices of B550 mobos, Ryzen GPUs and RTX 3070 should drop a bit. That's your best bet of getting a bang for the buck.

But if you need to start streaming right now, Ryzen 3600 will help. But fps increase won't be noticable too much.
