Hello,

If I create a Win 2 Go external USB HDD or USB stick with Win10 Home or Pro , is it possible to upgrade to the next Win10 Build when it appears through Windows Update ?
Or is this not enterprise Win2go sticking to the build with which it was created, or maybe not compatible with future builds.
I ask because I found posts that “Rufus” wasn’t always able to create Win2go with the newest build.
Or that “Windows to go” doesn’t support the newest build in free version , same with “Easeus Todo backup” . Last one doesn’t make sense if it’s possible to upgrade that USB stick easily from one build to another through windows update.
(Rufus / Easeus Todo Backup / Windows to go , are the programs I found to create an Win2go Stick. Maybe AOMEI free partition manager too).

Thank you.

How do I upgrade the operating system on my Windows To Go drive?
There is no support in Windows for upgrading a Windows To Go drive. Deployed Windows To Go drives with older versions of Windows will need to be re-imaged with a new version of Windows in order to transition to the new operating system version.

It does appear that you can make a slight Registry tweak to allow you to do so directly to the USB, and may allow you to 'upgrade' from inside Windows2Go, but not 100% sure...

There's are "upgraders" out there, supposedly - but nothing hosted by any site I've ever heard of before, so I'd urge caution before considering those.
