Win8.1 - File History - can it recreate files onto a NEW main drive?

so i have a 120G SSD that has my Win8.1 OS on it, and of course the Documents / Music / etc folders. my Steam games folder is on my separate 4TB WD Green, and i had File History set up to save onto the 4TB Green as well.

now, the SSD is dead. hosed. not working AT ALL. possibly fried controller. doesn't even get recognized in BIOS.

when i reinstall Win8.1 onto a replacement drive, can i use File History to "recreate" nearly all of my files that were in My Documents / My Music / etc? has anyone tried that? are there proper steps to take to make sure it recreates missing files as opposed to deleting the history because the new drive doesn't have anything in My Documents (yet)???
