This is a continuation of https://forums.tomshardware.com/thr...ments-and-my-documents.3839116/#post-23221986 .

I do not want to necro my old thread since i want to ask more question about this.

Can you separate Windows Libraries and documents folders ?
I do not want to mix personal data and program data.
I want them to be in different folders.
I have over 170 program folders which contain profiles for games/ utility programs.
My library contains tons of custom personal folders i created over the years.
I do not want all of them to be located in one folder.
Is there a way to keep library folder and user/document folder separate?
Thanks for the info and understanding,
Cheers

If you mean about windows system libraries they need to stay where they are. Though user's can change the location of the documents folder to a different drive. Than add sub folders (directories)

How to change the location of the default Libraries changed significantly between Win 7/8/8.1/10.

Your Programs, leave them where they are!

For your personal files (Documents/Pictures/etc)....simply move the contents of those folders to somewhere else.
Some other drive or partition.
Do NOT move the actual Libraries...just the files/folders within.

How I changed my download folder to my D drive. On the navigation panel on the left select a folder on this panel and right click and select properties than select location in the field and change to the new folder you have created. One to type in the path you want than click okay windows will move the files.

All user folders in documents created by the user have to be changed as USAFRet stated.
