[SOLVED] Windows 10 Error 0xc0000005 on certain software and stuttering lag

Well I don't know how to say this but, It's making me crazy

I've been encountering this problem around 2 days ago, I didn't install any 'inappropriate' software a.k.a pirated software lately, but somehow it happens while I was working on my project duh. I've tried to reinstall the app that got the error (Discord, opera, etc) but still got the 0xc0000005 error, then the problems spread into steam, and the game. The Steam launcher looks pretty long to load the software than it used to be. I can't start the game because it'll always ask for a file verification error, and if I launch the game it'll be very laggy

What I try to fix this :
  • run SFC /Scannow on cmd
  • Reinstall the software
  • turned off the DEP
  • Clean Format the HDD
  • Stress test on my RAM (The result shows that the ram is normal)
  • Fresh install of Windows 20H2 Build 19042 (It'll be normal at the beginning, but the error will come after several restarts/stand by for few hours)
My Spec :
Pentium G4560
Maxsun H110 D4 turbo m.2
4gb ddr4 Bulldozer (yeah you know it from the brand where it comes from)
Zotac GTX 1050 2gb

there I was thinking Maxsun H110 D4 turbo m.2 was an nvme, and asking what motherboard you had...

So what storage do you have as i would suggest running some scans on them to check their health, as if corruption is slow it could be the drives have bad sectors.

haha yeah, when I hear about that motherboard for the first time I thought it had nvme slot but it isn't XD

I'm now running 3 HDD (Moving into SSD maybe next month), my main windows HDD is in good condition, no bad sector or anything else, I've tested it on sentinel (Or maybe you can suggest me to use some software that's good for scanning bad sectors, so I can repeat the test again hoping that it's more accurate)

ah okay I will try that later, I've found the seatools on seagate's website since i'm using seagate.

And about the 0xc0000005 error, do you know how can I fix it?

I've run the HDD test with SeaTools and it passed the test with no error, so what could possibly be?

I do a re-run stress test on my ram again, and nothing appears to worry about

Can you download and run Driverview - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html

All it does is looks at drivers installed; it won't install any - this is intentional as 3rd party driver updaters aren't trustworthy

When you run it, go into view tab and set it to hide all Microsoft drivers, will make list shorter.

Now its up to you, you can look through the drivers and try to find old drivers, or you can take a screenshot from (and including)Driver name to (and including)Creation date.

upload it to an image sharing website and show link here

I am doing it as I am curious what drivers you actually have, more than anything. Let me know what I am dealing with.

funny, driver booster is one of the programs that falls into the "3rd party driver updaters aren't the best" category.

it would have helped if you showed me file names :)

I assume the 3 unknowns are dump files. I don't see anything out of place there. What is top driver?

i was thinking maybe cause was lan driver but your driver dated January this year.

try rung chkdsk c: /f /r on all your drives (obviously change drive letter) in command prompt (admin).

I am running out of ideas,
try running this on CPU - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool
i don't think its CPU, just checking.

Ahh I see  I used it one time only, but somehow it works fine without any error back at that time*

Ok here it is

2nd to 4th is a dump file, but I don't know with the top one

I've tried the chkdsk on cmd and no bad files/sector on it

I've tested the CPU test and it passed the test

top one is part of windows. Windows Cloud Files Filter Driver, not sure why the program doesn't know it. It isn't exactly new.

i don't know why it keeps happening then. Since its applications, it isn't something I can directly fix by running scans in windows. Drivers and storage seem okay... cpu as well.

What PSU do you have?

You might be shocked, but I'm using 450w korean psu rn, it may sound 'really' bad but since I build it step by step with my own money (as a high school student, it's kinda hard to earn money here) I can't push myself to buy a good one, I hope I can change it next month following with the ssd

I read some articles about 0xc0000005 is a access violation, but does psu affect it ? because I don't think about the reason why I got this error is because faulty psu (?)

i have to assume you have a 12 volt rail, it might be showing in a section under that one or in another area.
although bios didn't show it so maybe its not tracked. So we just don't know if it is cause or not,

those temps have to be wrong , many boards show wrong temps for some sensors but not all of them.

I still can't find where the 12v info was, even with cpuid HWmonitor :/

I don't have any psu tester or voltmeter on my hand rn, and I can't visit pc shop rn because corona lockdown

anything I can do to figure out the problems? :/

you could get pc looked at by a store. the PSU idea is just that, an idea. I might be wrong. It seems odd it doesn't even record 12volt.

how did you check ram?
Try running memtest86 on each of your ram sticks, one stick at a time, up to 4 passes. Only error count you want is 0, any higher could be cause of the BSOD. Remove/replace ram sticks with errors.
Memtest is created as a bootable USB so that you don’t need windows to run it

yes, I tested it with memtest86 and 64 for double-check, all shown no error or anything else, I run the memtest64 for 1 hour

the only thing left we can check that we haven't is CPU - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool
if that comes back as okay there aren't any parts left we can easily check.
Ram tests ok
HDD's are okay
Motherbaord - can't test it really
PSU - we have looked, it is mystery. It might be cause
CPU - until you run scan, it could be cause.

if CPU comes back okay, I would point at mb or PSU. And say, get PC tested by a repair shop if you can as I don't like blindly suggesting replacements. Although you are getting new PSU soon... so could wait.

See if anyone else thinks of anything.

The cpu was fine, there was no problem at all while I do the diagnostic test

Maybe I need to take it to my local pc shop for a check :d

Thank you for your help :D , I will update it on forum after I check my pc to my local pc shop
