Question Windows 10 May 2019 Update brought back Random Freezing problem with no BSOD

Hi,

The Windows 10 May 2019 update has brought back an issue I previously had around a year ago with a previous Windows 10 update.

Randomly the laptop will freeze with no blue screen, requiring a hard reset to get it to restart. No errors show in event viewer and it does not seem to happen in safe mode after running that for 12ish hours.

• memtest86 and sfc show no problems.
• Running select boot with all non-Microsoft services disabled still has freezes.
• Doesn't seem to happen often whilst playing games although it has happened.
• ASUS GL702VSK (Nvidia GTX 1070, i7-7700HQ)

Latest drivers on everything and an updated BIOS haven't changed anything.

I'm not sure what else I can do or test to try and fix this problem. The time it happens is completely random, possibly more when I am downloading things but that could be just because that is happening the most.

If anyone has any advice or has solved this before, it would be greatly appreciated.

This happened to me around 4-5 months ago. What worked for me is a clean install. Nothing else for me seemed to work.

Thanks for the help. I just tried this and it has not solved the problem.
