Hi all

I am having a very annoying issue. I have just wiped my computer completely clean and am still having the issue where my windows just refuses to update to 1903.

the current errors I have gotten are PHP WATCHDOG ERROR, error 0xc1900223 and that is pretty much it.

I have tried sfc scans, regedits, and chkdisks to no avail and of course a full reset.

what is going on? I have never had such a persistent issue before.

If you "just wiped my computer completely clean ", start over with a newly created USB or DVD.
This will be v1903, with minimal updates after the install.

I did this just yesterday with a system that had issues updating from an older version.

Just start over.

No yeah its a fresh install. I have literally freshly installed windows today and it started from 1603. I don't know whether starting over will do anything really. here are some pictures of what I am seeing in regards to updates. Maybe you can make more sense of it than I can.

I have installed them using the default windows updating system in settings, you can see it in the pictures.

I am using my windows 10 USB. Am I going to have to buy a new one or is there an obvious download I am missing here?
You are using an install made over 3 years ago.
You can use the same USB stick to create a new one, that will start with v1903.

Download the MediaCreation tool linked above.
Run that, and is will overwrite whatever is currently on your USB stick.

Hey sorry for the late replies but I have put windows 10 version 1903 onto a USB and have tried to install windows that way, but I get an infinite loop at my motherboard splash screen and I can leave it all day and it will not move. I tried again today after turning off secure boot and still the same 0xC1900101 - 0x20017 error.

My motherboard is a asus maximus IX formulas LGA1151

have you used Secure erase in the bios to wipe the ssd - refer page 3-22 of manual - https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/...RMULA/E12314_MAXIMUS_IX_FORMULA_UM_V3_WEB.pdf

that would get you past any errors associated with the current install.

This is what ultimately worked for me to get it to the right version however now I am having other strange problems that I will make another discussion for. Thank you for everyone assisting me in getting windows to do what its supposed to do.
