I reset my pc and it's been stuck at the "resetting this pc 8%" for over an hour now but it got to 8 percent within about 2 minutes what should I do? The loading sign is still turning so I presume it hasn't frozen
The computer seems fine for speed it's an I7-4770k on an SSD. My Internet speed is good but I didn't think a reset would have anything to do with Internet speed?
Yeah I thought it should be definitely done by now the loading thing is still turning around. What do you do at this point will turning it off then on ruin it?
With your specs, it has to be frozen. The entire process on your system should take less than an hour - possibly less than 30 minutes. If the reset is pulling down updates, and the connection to Microsoft is slow, it could appear "frozen"....but if you have a good connection, it shouldn't take anywhere near an hour.....
You can reboot and restart the reset process. It may create multiple "windows.old" folders - but you can utilize the Windows disk cleanup tool to remove them.
I turned the pc off and on and it came back to the original but I've selected to reset again but selected "only reset drive with windows intalled" as when I selected reset all drives it came up with "selected drives" as F and D not C. So I'd on 9 percent now hopefully it Finnished it this time
So when I selected to reset all drives that it may not have been frozen? I selected the reset all drives incase I had some virus on my pc just to be sure and I've never done a factory reset on these old drives before and I'm not the best with finding them
