I am trying to reinstall windows from a system image in windows recovery mode (my laptop is incapable of starting up and getting out of recovery mode, due to some core files being corrupted) and I created a system image of windows 10 on an external NTFS formatted drive, which should work according to the windows prompts. But whenever I start the system image recovery process I get an error saying that I need to have a CD with the system image on it in addition to the external disk, which is a problem because I dont have a CD burner and they are expensive, so I cant put the installation media on the CD. Is there any way to get around this, and restore windows using only the external drive? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
