I've tried every solution on the internet and none have worked. Windows 10 installation stops around 60% and says "Windows could not configure one or more system components" I'm fed up now. Will try and add update log file. Any questions, I will answer.
1709? you are a little behind - current version is 1903 Build 18362.175
I would suggest a clean install as i have seen people struggle to upgrade from 1709 in the past. Clean might even add features you never knew you were missing
Your system isn't that old that there should be anything on motherboard Win 10 doesn't know
back up anything you can't afford to lose off C drive as a clean install includes a wipe
download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB
Alright. I followed the guide and it worked. I'm at 1903 now. Little annoying that all my basic settings and whatnot are gone. But I backed up my files so I still have those. Thanks much for your help!
Hopefully MIcrosoft won't change how updates work again, you shouldn't need to clean install for a while now. I know they changed how cumulative updates worked at some stage and now you only get them if there is anything in them for PC, you used to get them all.
