[SOLVED] Windows 11 Search Bar is not finding GIMP .xcf files ?

In the past ... since Windows 8, I've used Classic Shell to get the Windows 7 look we all know and love.
With classic shell I could use that to search for any file I had; floor plans 2022.xcf for instance.
Meaning press the Windows key, type floor plans 2022.xcf and it let me open it in Gimp.
I recently re-imaged my computer to Windows 11 Pro and decided to give the default Windows 11 UI search a chance.
When I search for floor plans 2022.xcf nothing shows up.
In fact if I search for ".xcf" nothing shows up.
Searching for docx, .jpg or .png shows the correct files in the Windows start search.

Also to clarify, I am not interested in seeing a preview thumbnail of an .xcf, just a simple listing that the file exists so I can open it.

I checked Indexing Options>Advanced Options>File Types and xcf is checked with "Index properties only". (I changed it to contents as well and let it finish, no change)
I checked Indexing Options and the whole drive with those files was indexed and indexing is finished.
Under Search settings it shows 228218 Indexed, 0 Pending

Now if I open a file explorer and go to the root of that drive and do a file explorer search I get 3884 .xcf files in about half a second which makes me believe .xcf are actually indexed and I just suck at using the start menu search tool.

Any ideas or should I just reinstall open shell?

And when a .xcf file is found it can be clicked and the file opens via GIMP - correct?

Is GIMP the default app for .xcf files?

WIN + I > Apps > Default apps
This:

"Now if I open a file explorer and go to the root of that drive and do a file explorer search I get 3884 .xcf files in about half a second which makes me believe .xcf are actually indexed..."

Are those .xcf files actually in the root?

Or spread about in other locations?

D:\Floor Plans to be precise.
Not all 3884 .xcf files are floor plans, but that's the location of the floor plans folder.
The rest of the .xcf files are spread out across the drive.
