I feel like pinning Metro apps to the taskbar is common sense and should've been included in the first place, but overall, I'm pretty happy with W8.1. I seriously don't miss the start menu, and while I don't use Metro for anything but Netflix, having it is doesn't make my experience worse.

NO BUGS NO Compatibility issues with any of my Hardware Software or Games period on any of my rigs. In fact there is no reason what so ever to change even one thing in Windows 8.1 at all.

Same here, with Win 7.This is like arguing which flavor of linux someone likes. Except in this case it costs money. Smaller footprint-argument...I have trouble finding that believable. For every new Windows, memory footprint has grown and grown and I know for a fact that GPU memory used in Win 8 is even higher than Win 7.Remember Win2000 where 300 megs of RAM was enough? Or WinXP requiring maybe 800-1000 megs? Win 7 sits at 1,5-2 gigs. For what?Windows platform secure? You have gotta be kidding me. Thats a joke of the year.

I have windows 8.1 an honestly last time I had a computer of my own was when windows vista was just being announced an I still had XP. So to go that long without a PC of my own an to get one with windows 8.1 feels so refreshing. I haven't encountered any problems. I'm kinda tech savvy but not a lot an being I between I can tell you the everyday user will enjoy windows 8 after getting accustomed to the UI of the OS. It plays all my games just fine, the customization of the desktop an start screen are great, I use a mouse an keyboard an it's still just fine. So I'm excited bout this update long as it doesn't backfire an mess anything up." if it's not broke don't fix it" I'm sure windows 7 wasn't broke an still works just fine. Though for touch screen an other innovative ideas of the like it was broke cause it wasn't intended for that stuff. So Microsoft introduced windows 8 to make both of their worlds of portable an stationary blend. I don't see a problem with that since the mobile market is booming especially over seas in china. I enjoy having the newest technology at my fingertips if I chose to use it.Just be glad they didn't just go completely mobile an say fuck desktops we are going to build the ultimate cellphone/tablet/computer/gaming device and its going to be completely mobile. What would you do than?"Don't bite the hand that feeds you"

Now are they going to fix the ludicrous lack of a safe mode with first booting into normal mode? Are they going to give the option to actually fully shut down the machine when it needs it as opposed to basically putting it in sleep mode to improve "boot times"?

Just because you haven't experienced them, doesn't mean they don't exist. Why don't you google "Windows 8.1 upgrade black screen" and tell me that there are no bugs. I actually experienced this with a co-workers brand new HP laptop. Advice from HP? "Wait for the fix in about a month from Microsoft". Microsoft blames HP and HP blames Microsoft. Funny thing is though, that it's not just HP experiencing this, but also Lenovo and Dell. So, Bugs? Yes, they do exist.

Yes, yes. Win 8. The best since slices bread. Such HUGE performance gains. Did you guys actually pay to upgrade from 7? I hope not.

Can't wait, love Windows 8 Pro and 8.1 Pro, and ever since I first installed 8 pro back in late 2012, i have not had a single BSOD or system freeze, and my computer has been running perfectly. It is a 6 year old gaming PC and installing W8 on it made it feel brand new. Can't wait to build my new rig this year and install W8 on that, it will kick ass.W8 haters can go fuck themselves as far as I am concerned, it is the best OS I've ever used, and I've used everything since Windows '95, except Windows ME which was complete fucking garbage.
Lol Your in the minority there bud. Try getting a SSD hard drive for that outdated gaming PC. Win 7 will run just as fast. Win 8 is nothing different to make it run faster with the right hardware.
^ This. SSD > re-branding an OS for suckers. I mean consumers.

"On the next episode": Windows 8 goes 8.1.1.1.1. Sorry MS, still loving my Win 7. Can't really use Metro with the things i do. Took me 2 years to adopt Ubuntu with Unity, and because i was forced to. Guess i will wait for Win 8.2 or 8.5.

Well its been awhile an I still haven't gotten this so called update that this thread was made about. No worries my computer still doing alright without it. Keyboard an Mouse will always rule!!!!
