Windows and Linus Domain controllers

This may seem like a silly question, but my company currently has a linux file server that is a domain controller and a NT4 server. When trying to upgrade to 2000 server, windows doesn't like being a secondary domain controller. Is there anyway that 2000 server and linux can co-exist as domain controllers?

Thanks
