windows gone

i was testing windows vista and my xp files just deleted,they were suppose to be in the windows.old folder but they arent. is there anyway i can reinstall windows xp again and use my cd key on the back of my computer? i dont have the install disk either because it was preinstalled

Unless you have an install disk or a backup on another partition, you're out of luck. Perhaps you could borrow a disk from someone and use your product key. Or, you could contact the maker of the PC for a disk.

do u think sony would give me a recovery disk if i showed them my serial number and product key?
