Windows Media Player 8

I recently re-installed Windows XP and have installed all
the updates.
When I finish using the Media Player 8, it turns off but
itt oes not stop running in the background. I have to
press "control/alt/delete" and stop it manualy.

Any ideas how to fix this?

You havent installed all the updates. Media Player 9 is
out.
