Sorry, whizz through and asumed too much.
From www.papajohn.org there is piece on go back to MM1, this tells you how
to save you MM1 files so that if you want to you can run both MM1 and MM2.
So hopefully here is the page

and if you follow the instructions it may help.
I would also say, get the latest directx first and follow that up with WMP9
second and then do the work on Movie Maker.
