Windows update error code 0x80240fff

So recently i installed windows on a new harddrive and everything went fine, only when i tried to check for windows updates i got this error message saying that there are problems with the installation of the Windows updates and the message provides me this code: 0x80240fff.

What made this error occur and how do i solve it?

Was it an upgrade? Or did you install it directly from the disc?

The computer comes with Windows 10 and its totally new

And what helped you then? Have the same problem. It's brand new DELL ntb.

I dont know what to do in your case, other then to wait till monday and contact Microsoft about it like I did. I have windows 10 aswell, but i have it as an OEM so on a disc. What they told me to do (what indeed fixed the issue) requires the disc.

If you have the windows disc, or a bootable flash drive, i can tell you what fixed it with me, but if not, you should just wait till Monday and contact Microsoft about it.

Put in the disk, run the setup and let windows reinstall windows without loosing your installed programs or documents.

No, cause the stutup actually fixed the issue. It probably was a faulty windows install.
