Windows VPN not working!

Hi everyone,

So i have just set up a Windows 10 VPN for the first time and i am very confident i have done this correctly, its just when i click the connect button for the VPN in settings the page just closes, no error message and the VPN does not connect, i have checked all the info and restarted the PC but no such luck anybody had this issue before or know a fix?

Are you setting up your computer to connect to a VPN server, or to be a VPN server?
If computer is conencting to another VPN, then what VPN are you trying to connect to? What protocal are you using?
Do you have a connection to the internet on that PC?

i am setting my PC as a VPN server i assume and im just using the windows 10 VPN option connecting through PPTP, and yes my pc is connected to the internet and has been set a static IP.

What software are you using for VPN server? What device are you trying to connect to it?
You cant connect a local device to a local VPN because of IP subnet issues. You can only test from an outside network.

what software are you using? also, earlier windows10 builds had this issue irrc. they had to roll out an update to fix it... you shouldn't have this issue if your OS is up to date.

Which VPN you are using? It should not be behave like that. Maybe there is a problem with you installation. Are you using free VPN?
If you are using free VPN, I suggest you to try paid one. I have been using https://hidester.com/. You may give it a try. Their support center is so cooperative.
