I have recently upgraded from Windows 98SE to Windows XP.
My CD Burner is an LG 8x4x32x...Software Easy CD Creator
4. Have found out that this software is incompatible with
XP so had to uninstall it and use Nero instead. My
problem is that I am now receiving an error message every
time I start the computer, saying that the CD software
has been disabled due to drivers not being loaded etc
etc......but the software has been uninstalled and is no
longer on the computer but am still getting the error
messages on start up. Its a small thing I know but its
driving me crazy. My tech guy says that it could be
because my burner is older than XP and runs too slow for
it........which can't be tested unless i pull it out and
replace it with another. Any ideas???? Please. E-mail me
at delilah_64@hotmail.com.

Hello
I am not sure I understand, but do this and see if it works

The burner is not to slow and old, it might be bad and quit working.

Make sure the Adaptec CD creator is removed(Add & Remove Programs)it is not
compatible with XP.

Install Nero CD creator software.

Go to the device manager(right click My Computer>Properties>Hardware
Tab>Device Manager) and right click on the CD-RW burner and click on Remove
to remove the burner, then restart your computer, the burner is a plug &
play device and windows will install it when the computer starts.

Then see if it will burn something with the Nero software if not the burner
has more then likely gone south on ya.

V. 4 is *way* old. Get v.6. or 7.
