Windows XP on a p100

hi, i read the all-x86-cpu review and i saw the p100 with windows xp. i thought that it would be nice to put that on my p133, boot up the 'ol comp and see it booting longh..i mean windows xp. that would make friends jealous. so how would i do it? should i install it with a faster computer and then start it up on the slower comp after installed? would it work then? thx in advance! -korhojoa

Not possible, as part of M$'s we-would-screw-everyone-to-screw-the-pirates way of though, they made it so that you can't switch computers using the same HD, you'd have to install it on the P133. It's that extreme that even if you change the mobo and CPU you would usualy have to reinstall Windows.
I don't know much about old computers, but put as much RAM as possible in that P133, (does it even use SDRAM?). You can also install the fastes CPU that mobo can handle and than switch back to the 133 MHZ one, but anyway you look at it, it's way to much effort and money for something not os usefull.

what are you talking about? i have winxp pro that i loaded that exact way. took the drive out of my gaming pc put it in a p120 just for sh**s and it worked, just slooooooooooowwwwwwww as hell, the p120 had a whopping 128mb of edo.....

What?! I can tell I've tried doing that a dozen times and it never worked... I also worked somewhere where they had images of HDs which they would load and they said that they only do that on Win98 cause it doesn't work on WinXP (the image wasn't taken from a similar computer)

i have it work where i loaded a drive and used it with another comp and work perfectly.

then you must have been doing it wrong or there was too great a change, it WILL work unless it detects too many differences....thats why mine worked, both were intel based systems with few differences...
