i would recommend you buy a voice coil , but if insist on trying you can , magnet wire is what you would use , you would need to know what gauge of wire ,how many turns and what configuration of winding no one can tell how many windings because every speaker has a different coil .if you were successful at winding a coil , you would finish with an electrical varnish of some sort . i wanted to try winding some coils one time to save some money on repairing some tweeters i knew how many turns and had some wire , but i was not successful . this HARD to do by hand . the voice coils you can buy a wound by machine .
