Wireless card for dell studio 540

Hello,
I installed a wireless card Atheros AR5007G on Dell studio 540. The drivers were installed succesfully but after reboot my wireless icon shows no connections available. My wireless laptops work fine on the same router.. Is there a wireless switch on the desktop or did I miss something? j

Atheros 5007 have a very poor track record but is yours actually showing in Device Manager without any yellow marks beside it? Also, if the Windows system can't show networks, another utility might be controlling it so it's worth going into its configuration settings and altering that to let Windows control things.
