In response to an old thread, I found that I lose the ability to Use Windows
to configure my wireless network settings after I join my domain. Has
anyone had issues like this? If I remove myself from the domain and join a
workgroup, I can re-check this settings.Old Thread found on Google:In the
Wireless Network Connection properies, I want to
uncheck "Use Windows to configure my wireless network
settings".
When I click ok, I'll get a window alert with the
following info:
"At least one of your changes was not applied successfully
to the wireless configuration.dAt least one of the
Authentication setting changes was not applied
successfully to the configuration"
Please note the typo, "configuration.dAt". This is not my
typo!
This error also occurs when trying to remove a previously
configured Preferred Network.
My inital goal was to install IBM access connections,
which like many other 3rd party wireless utils, requires
you to disable windows from configuring the wireless
network settings. I've found a few postings from others
with this exact error but haven't found any answers.
I attempted the following so far:
-Removed the previous drivers and reinstalled (both
wireless nic and wired)
-Tried the latest drivers (tried older ones too)
-Booted into Safe mode with networking
-Reloaded SP1 (shouldn't have to, but what the heck)
Thoughts?
