So I have a deep cool ls520 se, in order to use the rgb on the display and on the fans I need the 3pin 5v D Gnd which my motherboard does not have. My deep cool matrexx 50 case has 3 rgb fans in the front with rgb controlled by a button on the top. It said somewhere that I should be able to control, also those light through software using the motherboard but never found out how. So basically if anyone knows if and how I can connect my case fans rgb to the mobo. And if not, is there anyway I can link my coolers fans to the same rgb controller/ button on the top of my case? The mobo I have is the msi z390 a pro

there is a 3pin aRGB cable connected from the fans to the cooler housing.
this will need to connect to a motherboard aRGB header instead.

you can browse the manual and see exactly where to find this.

this depends on the specific type of fans and case and what sort of devices they may be.

3pin addressable RGB(aRGB) devices are not compatible with 4pin basic RGB.
and still there are others that don't use either and use their own OEM types of LED devices.

Okay thx, I think they are the 3 pin aRGB versions but not entirely sure, what would be the easiest way to find this out?

OP, you say your mobo does NOT have any ARGB header. Tell us exactly what mobo maker and model you have so we can check.

In your case there is one cable coming down from the top panel buttons labelled RESET. With NO lighting units this one would normally be plugged into a pair of pins on your mobo's Front Panel header so it is the Reset pushbutton. BUT in your case that cable does NOT go there, and you actually do NOT have a Reset pushbutton. Instead, that cable goes to a connector on the ARGB lighting control board built into your case. The lighting cables from each fan also go to that board. In this scheme that case top button becomes the LED Display button, allowing you to step through several displays manually.

IF your mobo had an ARGB header built in, your alternative would be to connect all the fans' lighting cables to that header and NOT to the case lighting board. Then you'd use the mobo lighting utility software to set up lights, and you could connect that RESET cable to the pair of pins on the Front Panel header.

Assuming you do NOT have a mobo ARGB header, you do have the alternative of buying and installing a third-party ARGB Controller, perhaps like this from Razer

https://www.razer.com/gaming-pc-accessories/razer-chroma-addressable-rgb-controller

You install that and connect all your fan lighting cables to its outputs. Then you use the Synapse software utility provided to configure your lighting displays. This is done by keyboard and screen, rather than by manual pushbutton. That may provide more varied display options than the basic board supplied with your case.
