well now I do know the prices because I do some work on the website and I have access to their supplier =).
The really dont make much money! its all about volume...

And yes I does sux! And our road are sh1t! lol

Asus P4P800DX, P4C 2.6ghz@3.25ghz, 2X512 OCZ PC4000 3-4-4-8, MSI 6800Ultra stock, 2X30gig Raid0

I'm glad that Anitec is one of my local shops, along with NCIX, flycomputers, and atic. All have very good prices on some items. I doubt that holy is so lucky though, he lives in The Su (Sault Ste Marie), so I doubt local shops have much to offer.
I dont know why you guys push the higher priced ram though. Anitec will sell a pair of 512 Samsung TCCC sticks for under $100. Since it works fine at cas2.5 and OCs fairly well at that...

Bingo!

Change our recommendation to put this RAM instead of the "brand name" ram. This should be fine. I personnaly have "no-name" Infineon memory stick, they don't overclock much, but it's enough to run my system at 3800+ speed.

ops forgot to mention that i will be heavy gaming and need it to at least run half life two, in q few years i'm hoping to go into multi core programming so............ that have to be taken in account (i think all 939 mobo can use x2s tho with a bios flash) and if i only need like $200 extra for a killer gig then i wait...... or i jsut find some lawn mowing work for like some time.... (no computer busting, but at least i get some $$)
BTW i live in northern Ontario and the biggest computer shop here is damned staples!!!! >< [cry] and well if u see their prices and stockes you would cry too........ and the local shops is currently offering PIII and P4 1.8................................. (something tells me that they are here to fill in the need for basic computing needs...........) not very much computer demand in this town even though it is a medium sized city.......

from reading all the posts above i get that brand ram is not required
hdd upgrade for 80 gig might be better
cpu i can only afford low end....
gpu might only for on mobo and need more $$ for a good one...
btw the sweating thing does not work as in my dad's side everyone gets a sweating problem, i could be running 100m and then sweat like a pig..... and i already begged enough of my mom lol.....
Edited by TheHolyLancer on 07/06/05 09:18 AM.

DO NOT BUY FROM STAPLES!!!!!!

Check out the shipping rates, I will put good money on the fact that you could order from Anitec or some other Ontario shop for a better price than you will find locally.

From what I have noticed the rates don't go up too much from shipping from Anitec to Calgary, and Anitec to Ontario.

Brand name RAM is not REQUIRED in fact I build many systems with budget RAM, but when I intend to OC hard I will not skimp on the RAM.

well all my plans has gone astry........................

I think it was something along the lines of: "What system can i get for $700 CDN?" It just took half a page to say it...

When you're in a pickle, I bet its too dark to read there too...

Mike.

Edit to fix grammar.

The pickle is probably a little more translucent than the dog. If you like green, then it might be nice to be in a pickle on a sunny day.
