You can try it, but if the system is unstable, then that would be my first suspect. Personally, I'd just spend the extra to get a good PSU in the first place. If money is limited, then ou have to do what you can with what you've got...

heh so they are the same? how about them external connectors slot protections (the piece of metal that seperats the ports and the outside? they look different as my old board had serial port connectors and this one don't have them at all... its got usb and firewire and lan ports....., do i need to brute force the damn thing or do the mobo have something come prepared?

Your case should have a removable backplate. The new mobo will come with the proper backplate for it.

If you look at the label on the psu, it will tell you. Dont believe where it gives a total, multipy the rail voltages, by thier current, and add them up.
