lool, vista will be a beautifull flower very soon!

Microsoft is still watering it, but they should of watered it before they released it!

Some Sp packs and sorted

1. i hate consoles but the 360 is moer powerfull hands down. I cant be acused of being a fanboy since i cant stand how weak consols are to begin with 😛

2. I agree i would preffer blue ray so you win that.

3.personaly i find any game on the consol thats any good had come out on the pc first so which ever floats your boat there.

4.your on crack there since the 360 graphics power is alot beefier then the ps3

5.havent played the games enough to notice so i leave that to someone else.

6.FPS FTW! XD though RPG and RTS are pretty good.

7.Not going to say anything since i wont buy anything made in japan unless forced due to flimsy cheap design.

8.ps controler has been crap since the first. I used to like the ps controler over the rest only becuase the rest were even worse.

9. (rolls eyes)

10.free in my experiance is never better then paying a little for quality. Live>ps online sorry but there is no contest there its not even close.

11.yes ps3 looks better but hey its a good thing that really matters when it comes to the gaming eh?

12.consoles since they started trying to be computers have had massive hardware issues. Wii is the only real console left IMO.

13.your deluding your self on the cpu thing. They are both stripped beat down versions of a cpu. However the blue ray thing once again i would preffer one.

Im sorry man you do sound like a drone for ps3 or fanboy for those that wish. The only real thing that should sway your decision is games. Which has the games you like. Spreading bs to get someone to buy the one you like is just retarded.

In the end i would personaly pick a wii. Grew up when nintendo and sega were the only real two consoles and nintendo was so much better. Now as a pure gaming system nintendo is still better IMO however for raw power and popularity i doubt youll consider it.

Hey if they add blue ray to xbox which would be kinda wierd i wont even recognise the word ps3.

O yeah WII FTW!!!

1. The fact that you state you're all about FACTS and SPECS contradicts number 1. FACTually speaking, the PS3 has shown zero power advantages, and is probably weaker because the processor is a bloated piece of crap.

2. Bluray and HDDVD suck

3. PS3 sold a lot because of all Sony's lies and zombie fanboys

4. Thats not true, PS3 and 360 are nearly equal in graphical performance (exception being the cell vectoring theory, which no one has ever done)

6. I thought you said you were about facts
xbox360-genres-chart.jpg

lol, facts

8. The PS3 controller is terrible and uncomfortable, not "more responsive"

9. More like, developement time required to properly use the cell will drown all PS3 devs.

10. Agreed

12. Just like PS2

13. The cell costs a lot to make, but its pretty much worthless.

I personaly like blueray (backups) im not a big fan of buying movies that im not going to rip so the blueray hd movie thing doesnt really matter to me i would just rip them anyways.

I think it's funny that people think the 360 controller is better than the ps3 controller. It's just a "fixed" version of the old xbox controller that's been modified to make it more playstation-like. The only real difference is that they've switched the d-pad and the left stick.

Or actually, it could just be the third remodel of the dreamcast controller...

BTW, PS1 stole the SNES design (dpad+abxy+lr), PS2 stole the N64 design (analogue sticks and rumble).

But that's retarded so please quit making things up.

If they were trying to be more like the PS2 controller, they would be making the controller LESS comfortable and MORE stale, not the other way around.

right on

You couldn't emulate an Xbox360 with any current hardware. 😛

the only reason i really want a 360 is for halo because all my friends have it and I need to get back in the loop. but if i could emulate that on a pc, then there would be no point for the 360 because my pc is wayy better

True, but any game you can buy for both 360 and PC will be $10 cheaper on the PC.

Bah! Sony is just as bad as Microsoft if not worse. At least Microsoft is competent as a company and doesn't need to be bailed out by the Japanese government for bad business decisions every other year.

I actually have all three consoles in my house now. I'd have to say that the 360 is easily the best of the three. I love my Wii and all, but it's online store thing is pretty piss poor and there are very few compelling games for it so far. I am looking forward to Brawl though.

The PS3 is just an embarrassment. Easily the worst user interface of the three, very VERY few compelling exclusive titles, an inability to allow multiple people to be logged in at the same time, and tediously long install times for even small demos that won't let you do anything else with the console while they are going.

Thankfully I didn't waste any of MY money on that thing. My roommate did and as long as he makes rent it is none of my business.

It's also ironically funny that the PS3 has one of the stupidest over complicated hardware setups but the 360 is the one with the heatsink problem...

to dostanio if you have not purchased an xbox. I recommend a ps3. Reasons: GOD OF WAR 3, MGS4, FFXIII ARE EXCLUSIVE AND THAT WILL NEVER CHANGE. The graphics are nothing to brag about at this moment. However, let the programmers have some time. I guarantee you that you will see an exponential increase in graphics for the ps3 as more games come out. The xbox is cool and stuff, but do you seriously think that programmers can push the xbox 360 anymore? The only way it can achieve better graphics is become a xbox 720 or something, but that would double it's price too i'll bet. Also, you do realize logitech has ps3 controllers that is similar to the xbox right? So with all of that said along with the previous posts of these fanboys, get what you want and don't complain later on. [get the ps3 😉]

Or, you could go with a console that already has a solid game library instead of promises, an interface that is hands down superior, and games like Dead Rising, Mass Effect, and Crackdown which have already proven to not be duds and aren't coming to the PS3.

As for the idea that the 360 has been completely tapped, the PS2 and Xbox were seeing improvements in graphics several years after they came out, Both the 360 and PS3 will as well. I remain unconvinced that the PS3 has more potential.

As far as hardware failures go the ps3 and 360 run about equal.

Personally i hate all the playstation controller I think they are cheap

I like the Microsoft's design for the 360 controller more but i still think the gamecube had the best (and most indestructible) controller

Also i think the playstation controller looks a lot like the super nintendo controller with analog sticks just a thought before you start saying companies copying crap.

The ps3 and 360 have similar graphics power with a slight lean towards the ps3 being a bit more powerful.

Hd dvd is dead so if you want your system to multitask a ps3 will be a blue ray player as well.

The 360 has its killer title released (halo 3) and the ps3 is still waiting for one. Outside of final fantasy though i can see a good half of those 'killer' ps3 title showing up on the 360 at some point like gta vice and sa did for the xbox.

and before you say i am a fanboy i no longer own the ps3 or the 360 (sold the 360 to buy a wii =) and my ps3 is currently in the hands of my brother (sold to him)) i stick with pc now for most games

I don't like paying for online play but xbox live is probably the best online service i have ever seen and with the stuff it does i can justify paying the 50 bucks a year for it. it may sound like a lot but that is 4 bucks a month about.

My favorite of the 3 next gen systems is actually the wii though

If i had to pick from the 2 today I would pick the 360. Also look around your area and see what your friends have. If they all have ps3 then you shouldn't get a 360 because you can't play any games with em anyway and personally i think gaming is as much about having fun with your friends as it is about playing the game.

I think you need to stop drinking Microsoft's kool-aid. I've only read one case of anyone having issues with the PS3, and it was unable to read discs.

Gosh, I wonder why?

I do admit that I like the feel of the Xbox360 analog sticks more, but the weight of the Sixaxis controllers make them ideal for throwing to people without having to worry about possibly damaging something else in the process.

I've had my 360 Elite for Almost 1 year and never had an issue with it. I would say right now the 360 is the better choice. I had both the PS3 and 360 at one point but sold the PS3 because I found myself playing the 360 much more. I find the 360 controller much more comfortable and overall much better than the PS3's. Also granted I only played a few games on the PS3: Resistance fall of man and Heavenly sword and felt the loading times were much longer. The PS3 has lots of potential but it's just not there yet. I do plan to get the PS3 again maybe in the next year or so.

I'm gonna hold out on PS3 til June when the MSG4 / 80gb with back compatibility combo comes out. Til then the only console I can probably afford is a Wii...My main reasoning for not including the 360 is because my entertainment will be primarily Blu-ray movies with games as a close second.

I'm also a Final Fantasy nut for better or worse. Not to mention I want to play old PS2 games and my actual PS2 is currently broken...

Hi,
I don't post on these forums a lot, but I was hoping some of you could give me a couple of new insights in choosing between buying a playstation 3 or xbox 360.

I want to buy a console mainly because I want to play GTA 4 on release, and I want to play Japanese RPG's on it, besides that I'd likely buy a couple of more console-type games (racers, fighters, what have you).
Historically if you wanted to play JRPG's, Sony was the way to go, but nowadays it seems the genre isn't as popular as it once was, and spread out over all the consoles.

The xbox just had Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata and Blue Dragon released, and still has a couple more JRPG's in the works (new game in the Tales Of .... Series, and both Infinite Undiscovery and the Last Remnant being developed by Square-Enix). I think I'd also be picking up Forza 2 if I decided to get the xbox, since I've been hearing a lot of good things about that game. I also think that xbox live looks a lot more "fun" than the playstation network.

The ps3 doenst seem to have any decent JRPG's at this time, but has a couple of (potentially) heavy hitters in the works like the new Final Fantasy and Star Ocean 4. I would also definitely get the new Gran Turismo if I decided to get a ps3.

My problem is that I find it pretty scary to pay 400 Euro's for system that will get a couple of games some day that might be good (ps3), or to pay 250 Euro's for a system that is starting to show it's grey hairs(360).

Any advice is welcome, I'm looking to buy my console around the 1st of April.

You know there is only a 1 year split between the 360 and the PS3 right? I don't think the 360 is even over the hill yet, much less turning gray. There isn't a huge technological difference between the two consoles and in some regards the 360 is more advanced.

That said, I do suspect the PS3 will be the console of choice for JRPGs near the middle and end of it's lifespan, but not so much yet. The 360 is getting that attention right now and it may or may not keep it depending on the sales numbers of those games. If it has attracted enough jRPG players then it will retain the development. If not, then the developers will try out the PS3 or just develop for both.

Given the games you are looking for I would either get a 360 now for the games that are available there, or wait until there are at least 3 games on the PS3 that are must haves for you.
