yield issues makes sense. i hope that doesn't drive up the demand with price if they do release it in time for October/November 2013 (based on rumors). I want to see their inferior hardware choice at launch time.

[citation][nom]asalikus[/nom]You know what? Just don't release those damn consoles![/citation]

Next-gen smartphones will have more processing power than the current generation of consoles. And almost everyone knows that gaming rigs run in circles around smartphones in raw performance.

I want the new consoles, because the developers would have a reason to bump up the system requirements of their games.

I wish the day of HD6670 becoming mainstream will never arrive. AT LEAST A HD7850, or whatever equil when it is released...

This could also be the final nail in-the-coffin for DirectX 9. I welcome the move away from (now) highly-optimized 2006 graphics and look forward to progress again.

Original Xbox 4 years cycle, Xbox360 = 8 years cycles. So 720 gonna last 16years b4 the release another one? oh..my god.....by then a $100 GPU can max everything, even the newest console port title.

I don't see any consumer level smartphone in the next ten years surpassing PS3/360.

There is always a release date, just because Microsoft hasn't published one to the general public doesn't mean the date can not be delayed. I give it to you though this is pretty premature.

Yea I'm not going to be ion any Hurry for this new Console. Like all before it, it will be at least two to three years after launch before we see any titles that actually take full advantage of the new Hardware. It will be three years after launch before i jump in.

[citation][nom]fonzy[/nom]I think I'll wait and let the early adopters deal with the problems that are sure to come. Ring of Death 2.0[/citation]
then you'll be waiting a long long long time, as the ring of death still hasn't been completely resolved! LOL

What scares me is the 720 is supposed to have 8 cores, so will that mean my 3570k will be come obsolete for the new generation of games?

Why do people keep using the HD6670 to reference the GPU, since there is no way it could do 3D at 1080p at any appreciable frame rate? It wil need at least twice the muscle.

At ''back by demand'' aka nostrodamus: how can you make such a statement when A) you dont know the cost of the base model and B) you dont know the real world performance of the console?

Because of:-
C) I did the same after the last 2 Xbox releases, no reason to believe form will change
D) Performance of the console is almost irrelevant as it will output 1080p maximum as designed to work on a TV, whilst GFX cards I have owned for the last 10 years have all been able to drive an excellent display on a 2560 x 1600 monitor
E) How did you know my real name was Nostradamus?

[citation][nom]jkflipflop98[/nom]How can it be delayed when there's no release date set? Stupid headlines are stupid.[/citation]
At least some of us now know the initial "rumored" release date.
