Hey!

I trying to connect an Xbox 360 controller to my Windows 10 64 bit system. When I connect the controller, the x in the middle flashes green on the 4 sides continuously. I've tried uninstalling drivers and rebooting Windows, using different USB ports, a different controller, but nothing has worked.

If you have any ideas let me know, thanks!

I connected it into a USB 2 which didn't work. Windows 10 automatically installs drivers so I tried uninstalling them and then rebooting which didn't work. I am pretty sure it is wired because I have to use the charging thing whenever I use it with my xbox.

It does look like that. It isn't wireless though because I need to connect the charging cable at all times even when I am using my xbox or else the controller doesn't work.

Did you try putting batteries in it?
Does it have a rechargeable battery in it?
If it doesn't have either of those, then it's still wireless, because the xbox has a wireless receiver in it, and the cable just charges it, doesn't transmit data.

The thing that you plug the cable into comes out from the xbox controller. However, the batteries aren't accessible.

Sounds like you have a wired controller. It should work naturally with Windows 10 but if it doesnt, try going into device manager and see what if it is there as an unrecognized device or under the USB section. If recognized properly it would be under Xbox 360 peripherals. If you can find it, right click on it and do update driver> browse from my computer>pick from list of available drivers> then try to find the xbox controller section and select the right driver. The driver name should say Xbox 360 controller for windows Version 10....
