Xeon cpu temperature 59-62 while desktop and 90 degrees while gaming: Cooling comes from i5 cpu

I have recently upgraded my cpu to a xeon x3470. The cpu was a used one from Aliexpress and came with a thermal paste. I applied the thermal paste with an amount of a pea in the middle of the cpu. When im in desktop use, the cpu is between 59-66. The temperature is not stable, it depends on the programs i open.

When gaming the temperature can go up to 90 Degrees celcius depending on how stressed is the cpu on each game.

I am not sure if it is a cpu problem or if it is just a bad thermal paste.

Note that the cooler i am using is the one that came with my pc from dell inspiron 580 with the old i5 650.

Possibly not, i'd be happy with that on a 40-60W CPU but not a 95W one.

So the fan is the most important part from the cpu cooler? what about this one?

the hyper 212 is a great cooler (there are better) with a good price, it was in use in the days of 130W+ processors and so will be fine.

okay i will buy this one, thanks. But why you say that the Cooler Master Hyper 103 CPU Air Cooler is good for 40-60 watts TDP only? Where did you see that the hyper 103 is not good enough? i want to know for the future sorry for too much questions

number of heat pipes, size of fan are key. reviews that you find may have good airflow and managed intake temp, always oversize the cooling, especially if it is cheap to do so.

Hyper 212 evo is too big for my case.. i had to listen you to take this huge thing. Like the one i had bought at the start wouldn't be good choice

Well it wouldn't be, simple as that. You never mentioned you have a comparatively narrow case

Is there a solution to this? I mean can i patent the panel somehow to make some space for the cooler ? I is like 0.5 cm taller

I have same computer Dell Inspiron 580s ( with new case, transferred all components from old slim chassis to big one ) .
I bought the same cpu x3470 from Aliexpress like you. My cpu temprature while gaming is around 70-80C.
May I know what Cpu cooler are you using now ?

I am using the ARCTIC Freezer i32. It is great cooler my temperature while gaming do not exist 60 C. You may need to replace the fan though, because our motherboard makes a problem for the stock one.
