So I clicked restart on my PC and went into the BIOS to turn XMP on. I then saved changes and exited. Upon exit, the pc turned off, turned back on, turned off, turned back on until I decided to press the power on button on the case itself and it booted fine but the RAM frequency was still not at what XMP would have allowed when I got into windows. 1, is it possible the pc damaged anything when turning on and off and having me override that by pressing the power on button and 2, what happened?

My CPU is a Ryzen 5 2600x in a B450 steel legend with Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x8 3200mhz.

Solution
It probably is, at 1.35v. 1.2v is often the voltage of 2133, 1.25v at 2400, 1.3v at 2666. But that can and does change with different models, vendors, timings etc.

My DDR3 should be fine at 1.5v for 1866MHz, it's not, even though that's the XMP setting, with the cpu OC it requires 1.505v for some odd reason. And that's on Intel.

I think the PC was "learning" and should have rebooted 3 times by itself.
Try again

So it's been a long day I've trying to get my RAM to advertised speeds. I tried XMP three times, didn't work. I tried 2933MHz at 1.2V, 1.25V and 1.3V and they all didn't work; I got multiple BSODs and "diagnosing your pc" etcs on the Asrock boot screen. I've gotten into windows now at 2133MHz and am just disappointed nothing else is working. My specs are as follows:

Ryzen 5 2600X
Stock Cooler
Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 2X8 3200MHz
GTX 1070 Ti
Asrock B450M Steel Legend
BeQuiet Power 9 500W
Samsung 980 EVO 500GB

Appreciate any help, I'm disappointed and at a loss for where to go next.

try the dram calculator?
Yea that's what I was thinking of doing but I got a bit confused when filling in some of the details in the calculator. I'll try tomorrow as it's quite late now and might need some help filling out some of the details to get the recommended OC stats. Do you have any ideas why even 2933MHz won't work at the voltages that I tried? I found that really peculiar considering that should be stable on every 2600x.

Okay thanks both for the help. I'll try 1.35V @2933 tomorrow as well as the AMD calculator and I'll update you.

Okay so I'm honestly unsure how to fill in all the details shown by the calculator into the BIOS. YouTube videos haven't helped much. So I tried 2933MHz @1.35 volts, I got into windows, but then it crashed so now I'm in the BIOS curious as to what to try next. If someone could take me through how to enter all the details from the calculator into the Asrock BIOS that would be great.

I've tried 2933@1.35V again, I'm stuck loading with the Asrock logo upon boot, I'll leave it to see what happens.
