XP 2200 max OC?

I have noticed that this particular cpu does not have good OC potential but need to know its max and its settings using pc 2100 ram. How much more voltage can this chip take on a Volcano 9 cooler? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.....

If you have the T-bred A then it's only good for about 1850 MHz. But if you have the T-bred B then somewhere around 2200 MHz.

Yeah Something like only being able to increase the multiplier to 14. How can you tell between the tbred a and b? I may have the b since currently I have the speed at 1957mhz. So far I have to lower thew clock speed to 130 and increase the voltage to 1.7 . Any crashes the occured have been cause of the crappy saphire radeon 9000, cannot do the 3dmarks worth a flip. The CPU temp so far is about 56 celcius with the vol 9 fan. Just wondering on how high I can crank to voltage on this puppy without toasting the chip. My barton 2800 can fly high at 2.8 ghz but this thing is being a beyoutch.

Look at the bottom line on the black label on the chip... It shows the stepping and in the 5th position, it will show either a "B" or an "A"... Obviously you want the "B"!

As for how far you can push it... if you're using 1.7 volts to get 1957 MHz. I'd say chances are you have an "A" stepping... the "B" stepping would do that on stock voltage.

... and if you've got a Barton at 2.8 GHz. I want to hear more about it!!!

XP2100+ I guess? I couldn't get my pally to go much more than 1.7Ghz, and that was only 33Mhz above stock! crap chips... 😡
