hello, i´ve 2 WD drives ( same model) in a raid 0 setup . the raid is reported FUNCTIONAL by the controller BIOS , if i boot from a dos disk ( like w98 one) i can fdisk the array, and format the disk normally. this is pretty fine, doesnt ? ... ok. here´s the problem... I start the XP installation setup, and then it tells me that I have no disks available to install the OS . So, i tried with F6 and some drivers from gigabyte ( up to date drivers ), and the same problem occured. If DOS can see the array, and format it, WHY windows XP doesnt??? and, Windows 2000 doesnt work either !!!
in short, the array is somewhat working, but during a fresh install, a new install, windows doesnt recognizes my 2disks setup ! XP have a built in driver for promise fast track 100 , and i also tried another from my mainboard manufacturer.
And... yes... theres more... when i started another disk ( with windows XP) in a normar IDE controller, it booted up normally. after the logon, it ask me for the drivers of my new Promise ( because Ive replaced my mainboard), so i put the disk , selected the driver, and then, windows tells me that the device cant be initialized !!
please help me!!! IM TOTALLY PISSED OFF !!!
( sorry if i cant explain it any better, i talk spanish ! )
thanks !
