I really need help! My DVD/CD-RW will read CD's as well as CD-RW with data
on them. If I put in a blank CD-RW it just keeps trying to read it, but
nothing happens. I hear the disk turn, then stop, then turn again and stop
over and over, with nothing happening. I have put in several CD-RW's in case
one was bad. Same results.

I uninstalled my Sony CD-RW CRX810E driver and restarted the computer. The
system installed the driver. Did not work! I then uninstalled my secondary
IDE Channel, restarted the computer. The system installed the driver and it
still did not work.

Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated.

Thanks

WinXP does not have native support for the UDF format and will not write
to CDRW (or DVD either). To write to a CDRW you will need a third-party
CD writer product like Roxio, etc.

If this is true, why does Sony come with a cd-rw and XP and why was it
working prior to SP2? Also, it should still allow a blank CD-RW and it does
not. Obviously, this is a problem with XP. In order to write to the CD-RW,
the CD must first recognize the CD and it does not.

I can't believe that XP will not recognize a blank CD-RW when it did for
over a year before.
