I have a question. At the moment I am holding off from getting sp2 but
what I would like to know is is it one long download or will it go in
chunks? I have a modem and don't have any high speed anything so I see
this as being a problem, *although* I did read that when you lost the
connection or when you sign off, the update will just continue where it
left off when you get back online. I guess that is better than nothing but
I see this as bogging down my computer for the whole day and days that I am
online. I may go with the cd, but I am curious and a little leary about it
right now as well.

Thanks.

Hi

It will be one download and yes it will continue where it left off if
disconnected. Although disconnecting when any program is downloading or
installing could prove problematic.

Okay, thank you. I think I may wait for the cd then because as I see it it
would take me days to download that whole thing. I think microsoft should
just send out the CD's to xp registered users, period without us having to
ask, IMO.

Hi

The download via Windows Update won't be as big as the size of the CD (266
Mb). The WU download size maybe between 80Mbs and 120Mbs - depending on
what Updates you already have.

Well I do keep up with the updates, but nothing related to sp2.... that
is still a long download....

I read in one of our UK national newspapers recently that "details of
how to obtain SP2 on a free CD-ROM should be announced soon." Which
space should I watch?
