XP won't auto boot, makes me enter boot menu

So, windows in on there but it won't boot up on its own. When I turn the computer on it finishes the post screen and then sits at a blinking cursor. If I hit ESC to enter the boot menu and select the hard drive, it boots up just fine.

I've searched through the bios but found nothing that seems to be associated with this problem.

Run msconfig. Report back, contents of bootini file.

It sounds like you may have the incorrect boot order in the bios. Are your hard drives listed 1st? Also, there may be a place in the bios which designates the hard drive to try to boot from. If so, make sure it's set to the correct drive.
