Hello, i hope i can find answers here ;-)
I installed win 10 home to my new rig (Asus Z170 Pro Gaming, i7 6700, SM951 256GB (ahci version)) with an USB drive. The installation was no problem at all, the setup saw the ssd and it was done in like 5min.
BUT
The bios (latest version) says at the drivename "(Sata6G_1)" and in a benchmark tool it also states "connected: Sata III". So i don't know if it is connected to the right interface, since the m.2 can switch between SATA and PCIe. (Option in Bios: [M.2] SATA mode to M.2 -> SATAe only PCIe, [SATAe] SATA mode to SATAe -> M.2 only PCIe)
Readspeed is atm at 1.7 GB/s. It should be 2.2 what i have found by now though.
If i change the option in the BIOS i cant find the ssd during the installation.
Has anyone have a similar setup and can tell me if its like that or i should try another way?
Its not that i am not hyped about the speed, its insane, but i dont want to waste resources and/or have any problems in the further process when i complete my rig when it comes down to avaiable SATAe/PCIe ports/lanes.
When i am here i can ask the following question as well:
Afaik the 1151 has 20 pcie ports. I want to have 1 main gpu (gtx 980) and 1 gpu for physx (GTX 750 Ti) in it (total of 16 lanes (?) ) plus the x4 for the m.2 (hopefully) i am out of lanes. Is it still possible to connect 2 more normal ssds to the SATAe Ports of the board or will this take performance of my GPUs away since these ports have PCIe lanes implemented... ?
Thanks for any help!
