Hello. Considering the 10th gen's lack of Pcie 4 support I have been considering upgrading my 10600k to the 11600k instead of going for a 12th or higher gen having to switch the motherboard as well.
I currently have a MSI Z490 Gaming Plus and I have the latest version installed, so it can support 11th gen.
I have a question, though: I read online that Z490 boards make 11th gen processors perform even worse than 10th gen ones. Is this still true in 2023? Because if it is, I'll just switch to LGA1700 and get a 13600k, but if possible I'd prefer not to.
Thanks in advance, any response is much appreciated!

Why is PCI-E 4.0 so important?
If your PC does everything you need it to then no reason to upgrade anything.
