Question PC Won't Switch On

I installed i7 4770k to my Mecer Proficient (DQ87PG) with 250w power supply, 6gb RAM 500GB HDD, after installing the CPU my pc goes on and off after few seconds, Bios is updated, no beep codes, what could be the problem

Are you certain that the CPU is operational? What CPU were you previously using?

I am using i3 4170, BIOS version is 0155(Version 2.8)

I didn't reset bios. My BIOS version is 2.8 and I am using i3 4170

Leave the new CPU in place and reset the BIOS to default settings.

- Power system down and remove all power sources, power cable, video cable, powered speakers, etc.
- Press the power button to discharge residual power in system components.
- Remove the motherboard's coin-cell battery. Wait one minute.
- Re-insert battery and reconnect previously removed connections.
- Power on. Your BIOS should be in default settings.

Does your original CPU still work in the motherboard? Also, are you using a GPU/video card or the built-in iGPU?

Can't it maybe be the PSU(250W) that is too weak for the CPU

While that CPU is definitely on the low-end of the spectrum, it should be enough to power the new CPU.

Seems like it may be defective (the new CPU).

The supported CPU list for that motherboard is here. Is the specific part number of your 4770 on this list? If not then it's not surprising it doesn't work. That list also spells out BIOS ver 0030 for that CPU.

Did you reset the BIOS?

Yes, removed cmos, tried the jumpers too and in bios mode when starting but still the same bios 0155(v2.8)
