Turns out the fan was faulty. I've been sent a replacement and its working as expected with no issues. I'm glad it wasn't my shoddy installation causing a problem. Thanks again to you all for the comments and suggestions.

Sounds silly but double check the connection on the MOBO as you can accidentally connect the cable to the header the wrong way around. If no luck try it on a different header. If I recall correctly you also need to make sure that RGB is turned on in the BIOS. Try those steps then have a play...

The only update I carried out was new drivers from my MOBO website. Once the new drivers were installed I restarted and it all worked as it should.

Thanks for your opinion nikomateev. It's pretty much confirmed what I thought and I suppose it really just comes down to how much you want to or, can afford to spend as I'm okay with the noise and I'll not be overclocking. I was just concerned the GPU might run too hot which could cause problems.

Hi computerjoe. There are three 120mm fans in the front of the case which are connected to an RGB splitter, that splitter then connects as a single connection to the JRGB1 header.
