Ok, its been a while, but I bought an HX750i, and it solved the issue... for a few weeks. The problem has started up again, but this time it happened in Civilization VI (DX12). Same specs as above, with the exception of PSU.
(seeing as it has been a while, does this warrent a new thread?)
Thanks for the very fast response!
I have a spare 500W PSU, which I think is cutting it fairly close to what my PC draws under load, and I am not sure if it has enough of the cables I need, but I will have a look. I am not sure what you mean by "better" is the VS series a cheapo model, or are we...

Found the solution after breadboarding it... Apparently the reset switch was shorting out on the motherboard, so unplugging that worked a charm. For this particular case and it's included RGB Controller, the reset switch is also used for plugging into the RBG controller, to allow the user to...
I have just upgraded my Case, Motherboard and added a few new fans and an RGB controller, and while attempting to boot the PC up for the first time after building, I get fan power, all RGBs light up (RAM takes unusually long, but most of the time gets there in the end), but I don't get a beep...
So my mum's motherboard gave out recently (after 10 years of neglect, so fair enough), and she is convinced that I know lots about computers, which as you will soon discover isn't quite true...
Having rebuilt it using my old system (new mobo & CPU), and reinstalled windows 7, despite the...
Thanks Geofelt.
By "future proofing" I subconsciously mean a lack of impulse control and a thrill of having to mess around with my computer for effectively no reason... It's great fun until reviewing how much money you have left at the end of the month...
I have had the processor a few months...
Ah ok, so there's a chance that it may be able to squeeze out 5000MB/s despite using a 2nd gen Ryzen. If I have understood correctly...
Thanks for the impressively fast response!
Build as follows:
CPU: Ryzen 7 2700X
Motherboard: Asus Prime X570-P
SSD: Sabrent Rocket NVMe PCIe4 1Tb
I am obviously not an expert, but would like a good degree of future proofing, so I have opted for PCIe 4, so when I decide to upgrade my CPU, the rest of the computer will work nicely...
